Privacy Policy
Akai Agency ("Akai", "we", "us", or "our") helps ecommerce brands scale with paid advertising and media buying across Meta, TikTok, Google, and other platforms. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies to visitors of akaiagency.com, prospective clients who contact us, and the clients we work with.
01 Who we are
Akai Agency is a paid-ads and media-buying agency built in Cairo, Egypt, serving ecommerce brands globally. For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, Akai acts as a data controller for the personal data we collect about website visitors and leads, and as a data processor when we manage advertising accounts and assets on behalf of our clients.
02 Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact & application details — your name, email address, phone number, company or brand name, website, and any message or project information you submit through our application form or by email.
- Business information — for clients, this can include store URLs, advertising goals, budgets, and product information needed to deliver our services.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage & device data — IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar analytics data when you visit our website.
- Cookies & tracking technologies — used for analytics and to measure the performance of our own marketing. See section 07.
Information we process on behalf of clients
- When we manage ad accounts, we work with advertising and analytics data inside platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Google, and Snapchat. This may include aggregated and pseudonymised audience and conversion data belonging to our clients and their customers.
03 How we use your information
We use personal data to:
- Respond to enquiries, applications, and proposals;
- Provide, manage, and improve our advertising and media-buying services;
- Communicate with you about your account, projects, and results;
- Operate, secure, and improve our website;
- Measure and improve our own marketing; and
- Comply with legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
04 Legal bases for processing
Where data-protection law (such as the GDPR) applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent — for example, when you submit a form or accept non-essential cookies;
- Contract — to deliver the services you or your company have engaged us for;
- Legitimate interests — to run, secure, and grow our business in ways that do not override your rights; and
- Legal obligation — to meet our regulatory and accounting duties.
05 How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Advertising & analytics platforms — such as Meta, TikTok, Google, and Snapchat, to operate campaigns and measure results;
- Service providers — hosting, email, analytics, and productivity tools that help us run our business (including our website host, Vercel);
- Professional advisors and authorities — where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
These third parties are bound to use the data only as needed to provide their services to us.
06 International transfers
We operate from Egypt and work with brands and platforms around the world. Your data may therefore be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place — such as standard contractual clauses — to protect data transferred internationally.
07 Cookies & tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how it is used, and measure our marketing. Essential cookies are always active. You can control or block non-essential cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site features.
08 Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to deliver services, maintain our business records, and meet legal obligations. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
09 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request deletion of your data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent at any time; and
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@akaiagency.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10 Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information and limit access to those who need it.
11 Children's privacy
Our services and website are intended for businesses and individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated directly where appropriate.
